500 Colombo East UNP members joined Kolonnawa Chief SLFP Organiser, Provincial Councillor R Dumindha Silva.

Pleased with the programme the President was carrying out for building up the country, nearly 500 Colombo East UNP members joined with Kolonnawa Chief SLFP Organiser Provincial Councillor R Dumindha Silva.

This group joined the Government at a people’s rally held at Kirilapona recently with the determination to support the programme of building up the country

Welcoming the people who joined the Government Provincial Councilor R Dumindha Silva said that all forces were gathering around the Government led by His Excellency the President.

Savings Accounts were opened for a large number of innocent and helpless children

Yet another phase of the programme for raising the educational standard of the children of the Colombo District launched according to a concept of Provincial Councillor R Dumnidha Silva was implemented.

Accordingly shown below is how Savings Accounts were opened for a large number of innocent and helpless children of the Colombo District where relevant passbooks were handed over to children concerned by Provincial Councillor R Dumindha Silva.

Participating in the occasion the parents said that the future of their children was lightened up due to this programme which R Dumindha Silva was implementing uninterruptedly for the future educational advancement of the children of the Colombo District.

The Book Donation Program continues….

The Book Donation Program focused on the children of innocent people in need of help within the Colombo District, which is initiated by Kolonnawa Chief Organizer of SLFP Deshamanya R Dumindha Silva, is now continuing further.

Hundreds of thousands of school children have been already benefited under this program.

Another step of this program which is result of concept of Deshamanya R Dumindha Silva, was held at the Rajasinha Maha Vidyalaya Kotikawatta.Large number of school children were given school books free.

Among the educational aids of the Deshamanya R Dumindha Silva,

1.Donation of internationally recognized computer scholarships for student priests and school children
2.Conducting free seminars for the student sitting for the grade 5 scholarship exam and Ordinary level in December
3.Donation of school uniforms

“Wap Magul” festival of the Kolonnawa electorate….

“Wap magul ”festival of the Klonnawa electorate under the “Api Wawamu – Rata Nagamu” national program, was held at the “Nimaladuuwa ” paddy field which belongs to the Mulleriyawa lake.

It was held with the participation of Kolonnawa SLFP Chief Organizer and Provincial Councilor R Dumindha Silva as the chief guest. Highlights of the program are displayed here.

Another Loan Donation Program

In accordance with the great concept of Provincial Councilor, Deshamanya R Dumindha Silva to empower people through the generation of self employment, another loan donation program was held at the Kolonnawa SLFP main office premises.

1000 World Recognized Computer Scholarships for children

The Computer education has been essential for the student generation today. Identifying importance of this, Provincial Councilor Deshamanya R Dumindha Silva inaugurated a free computer scholarship program for Colombo district children who were dreaming of such an opportunity.

As the first step of this program, 1000 children were given world recognized computer scholarships at the Kolonnawa SLFP main office ceremonially.

Scholarships for three students who have successfully completed the training program.

Nugegoda.”Deshamanya” Councilor R Dumindha Silva participated in this event as the Chief Guest.

”Deshamanya” Councilor R Dumindha Silva made quick arrangements to offer three scholarships for three students who have successfully completed the training program.

Provincial Councilor “Deshamanya” R Dumindha Silva was felicitated with a special award at the “MACO” Awards Ceremony held by the Sri Lanka Mass Communication Association recently.

The political and social service rendered by Councilor R Dumindha Silva was acclaimed at this ceremony attended by a large gathering including politicians and media personnel.

Councilor R Dumindha Silva who performs a magnificent service on behalf of the innocent and helpless people particularly of the Colombo district has made a mark as a popular politician in today’s political arena.

Councilor R Dumindha Silva who contested at the recent provincial council election as a UPFA candidate succeeded in winning the highest number of preferential votes because of his service to the people.

The successful series of seminars held as an aid for the scholarship exam under the “Sisu Saviya” program.

According to a concept of SLFP chief organizer of the Kollonnawa electorate, provincial councilor “Deshamanya” R Dumindha Silva steps were taken to conduct seminars free of charge for the benefit of grade 5 students, as an aid for the scholarship exam.
The series of seminars, consisting of discussions, aptitude tests and lectures were conducted successfully on the following days,

01) 19th July 2009 – At Kollonnawa Balika Vidyalaya
02) 26th July 2009 – At Piliyandala Hurman Mainor Maha Vidyalaya
03) 02nd Of August – At Malambe Model Boys School

The new building constructed at the Mulleriyawa police station was handed over to the public

The new building constructed at the Mulleriyawa police station, in the Kolonnawa electorate was handed over to the public, under the patronage of Prime Minister Rathnasiri Wickramanayake. The Prime Minister who arrived at the occasion was welcomed by Provincial Councilor, “Deshamanya” R Dumindha Silva. Since Provincial Councilor, “Deshamanya” R Dumindha Silva was appointed as the chief organizer of the SLFP for the Kolonnawa electorate; many development projects took place in the area. A new building for the Mulleriyawa police station also provided in accordance with the development projects in place in the area.

Program to eradicate DENGUE in the Colombo district

With the intention of eradicating dengue in the Colombo district, organized by the R Dumindha silva foundation, the second phase was conducted recently in the Kolonnawa area. Provincial Councilor, “Deshamanya” R Dumindha Silva who also conceptualized this drive, graced this occasion.

Felicitation of war heroes

As a concept by Provincial Councilor, “Deshamanya” Mr.Dumindha Silva, the “Dhayaka Sabha” of the Gothatuwa Kande Viharaya and “Suguna” youth club organized a War hero felicitation recently which was attended by family members of war heroes in the kolonnawa area with the participation of Brigadier Prasanna De Silva Who headed the 55-59 Divisions of The Sri lanka army during the final battle against the LTTE Terrorists.

Drive to promote local production of essential items

With the determination of promoting the local production of essential items, a tree planting campaign was launched in Gothatuwa area. This program was organized by the Kolonnawa divisional secretariat and the R Dumindha silva Foundation with the participation of youth organizations in the area. The occasion was graced by Provincial Councilor, “Deshamanya” R Dumindha Silva. A large number of residents too attended this event.
